I love how you got the DG green to look almost like a dirty pastel.

I’ve been trying my hand at stippling with a 0; I get the feeling this work is a bit finer than that. For some reason I’m going right down the rabbit hole and giving NMM a go too. 🤦🏾♂️ Andrewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13370068093369272004noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6374187419315993017.post-30045269399505478612017-12-26T19:48:39.504+00:002017-12-26T19:48:39.504+00:00Well done David! Congrats on the win!

By the way, are those micro beads in the fleshy, decayed elements? What's your process for creating that effect? I'd love to try it out.

All the best,

JakeAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07594413208082671764noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6374187419315993017.post-26847576815896287872017-12-08T22:02:34.146+00:002017-12-08T22:02:34.146+00:00Not a dumb question at all! The answer is not all that straightforward as there is a bit of both going on.

A lot of the work is done by building up the density of the stippling. However do mix the base and highlight colours to create intermediate shades as there is a lot of going back and forth and stippling with these shades to fine tune the effect.David Soperhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07358848881843128133noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6374187419315993017.post-19590316318518849812017-12-06T05:43:04.709+00:002017-12-06T05:43:04.709+00:00This is going to be a dumb question: when you have...This is going to be a dumb question: when you have listed a base colour and a highlight colour, are you mixing them to gradually work up to the pure highlight? Or with the stipple technique are you using the pure highlight colour and just stippling it on more and more intensely as you hit the highest parts of the sculpt?Minijunkiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10812448546715524959noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6374187419315993017.post-31552411786935845742017-11-27T11:00:14.116+00:002017-11-27T11:00:14.116+00:00I could indeed ;)I could indeed ;)David Soperhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07358848881843128133noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6374187419315993017.post-11487981789103584562017-11-27T03:14:07.735+00:002017-11-27T03:14:07.735+00:00Beautiful pastel hues that work well with the Deat...Beautiful pastel hues that work well with the Death Guard. But, as you say,it can be very tricky to work around and the potential for a fail is pretty high.
